To anyone that skateboards, they know that helmets are more often than not, an annoyance. I agree that they are a necessity when it comes to skating large skate obstacles such as pools, or any tranny taller than 6 feet, but when you are an experienced skateboarder who has been skateboarding for a number of years, the choice should be yours if you want to wear a helmet or not. In the state of Montana once you are 18 you are no longer legally required to wear a motorcycle helmet. So why is it that I can drive a motorcycle down the hightway at speeds up to 75 mph without having to wear a helmet, when I have to wear a helmet riding a piece of wood whose speeds rarely top 10 mph? I'm over 18, I know my capabilites, It should be my choice if I want to risk not wearing a helmet or not. <br/><br/>I don't have any good thoughts on how to stop the crime problem at the park, but i assume that the whole reason there are problems is because it's in a public place and dirt bag kids that don't skate have no where else to go.
